Wondering where would I get the pin of the card in order to be able to withdraw money in South Africa ATMs? Shall that pin code be received by post (no time for that in my case) or could I get somehow else like in the brand where I collect the card? Thanks

I want to order a cash passport in south african rands to collect in Heathrow Airport in 4 days. Bank transfers can only be made from bank accounts in the same name as the primary Cash Passport cardholder. You can load money onto the cash passport online using a debit/credit card or alternatively transfer money into your daughter's bank account for her to transfer funds onto the card via her internet banking.

Unfortunately you cannot load money from your bank account onto your daughter’s Travelex Cash Passport. The Travelex Globe card is a GBP sterling card that can be used abroad, this therefore means that when you made your initial load via your debit card you would be sending GBP sterling from your bank account onto your Globe card and no currency conversion would have taken place. I would recommend emailing cardservices@travelex.com to be certain that the 2% charge was not issued by them before going back to your bank and requesting that they look into this further. We have checked the Travelex Globe terms and conditions and have found the following statement "Credit/Debit cards may be subject to a card handling fee or cash advance fee set by the card issuer" if used to load your Globe card , where as " You will not be charged a card handling or cash advance fee if you choose to pay by Maestro, or MasterCard® Debit Cards".

Hi John,<br

Quick question. I recently purchased a cash passport Globe card, I made the initial load onto my card via my Visa debit card. On checking my bank statement I was shocked to see they had charged me 2% for doing this. Reading my banks terms and conditions, it would seem that they add 2% for the purchase of foreign currency with my debit card. I rang my bank and queried the charge. My bank claim this is a charge levied by Travelex (and not the bank, and not Visa). Reading Travelex's t&c it specifically states there is no commision charge for loading a Globe card. Can you please clarify the situation. Is this just my bank charging me?
Many thanks.

As you purchased the card online you can either withdraw the remaining balance from an ATM machine or alternatively call Travelex's card services and arrange for the money to be transferred into your bank or building society. Please be aware that in most cases your funds will be converted by Travelex into Sterling.

There are no fees associated with cashig out your cash passport. Loading of other currencies (USD, NZD, AUD, CAR, ZAR and EUR) is free.

You will be charged 2% to top up online or via telephone in GBP.
