Buying currency whilst in Poland
Although I would always recommend purchasing your travel money before you go on holiday there are still many occasions where people find themselves running low on funds and need to withdrawal or convert more money into Polish Zloty. You can withdrawal money from any ATM machine that displays the relevant VISA, MasterCard symbol. Buying or exchanging foreign currency in Poland is done so at a bank or in a Kantor, which is a private currency exchange office. These offices are either self contained or simply desks in travel agents, train stations, post offices, department stores and upmarket hotels. The larger the city the more Kantors you will find. However even medium sized towns will have a couple of polish Kantors.
Remember – “Kantors only change cash and do not take payment from debit or credit cards. Some will not accept notes that have been written on and will only accept bank notes that are in good condition.”
